How the program benefited students in 2019

When we work in schools it’s important to us that we regularly gather feedback from the girls and teacher we work with. It’s incredibly important that the content and delivery of our workshops are relevant and accessible. Below is come feedback form last years project:

  • After the 10 week project, 100% of girls now confidently know what consent mean, in comparison to only 1/3 knowing what it meant before GG.

  • By Participating in Generation Girls there was an increase in all areas of confidence from the girls.

  • The overall score for 'confidence speaking in front of new people' tripled and 'leading a group' went up from 22% to 56%

  • 4/9 said they were happy to ask for help, this increased to 9/9. An increase of 66%

  • All girls said they felt able to say no to things they didn't want to do after the project whereas before only 4 girls said they where confident sating no.

  • The girls attitude towards their looks became more positive as a result of the project - with twice as many saying they liked themselves after.

  • All girls said they they strongly agreed with knowing what a healthy relationship looked like. Compared to only 44% knowing this before.

  • In session 1 only 1 out of the 9 girls said they strongly agreed that they liked talking  about their feelings. This increased to 5 out of 9 (that's 11% to 56%) after the program had finished

It’s tricky to talk about these things but I feel comfortable doing it in this environment. I can actually talk about things like sex and periods.

All our girls gained a huge amount from this group as it allowed them to be themselves and talk freely in a completely safe setting

I now feel confident to spot the signs of abuse if I was in an unhealthy relationship
